The little boat sits
Surrounded by the deep
Misty morning fog.
She quietly mourns
The loss of her
Fisherman friend,
Her companion and
Champion for so many years.
Now, as the fog lifts
She still waits
For someone new
To toss a line over
Her side and tell her
All of his secrets
As the fall leaf
Floats to
Its end.
