Sometimes it seems life is as lived in a penny arcade.....
PINBALL WIZARD
We take great pains
To prod and poke,
Jimmy and shake
As we try to make life
Come out the way we want.
Funny, that’s never
The way it works.
Our existence is more
Than a pinball machine
With no flippers.
The shiny ball drops
Ringing, pinging,
As it hits bumpers
An explosion of lights,
The tally rolls higher, higher.
The ball plunges holeward,
Try to delay its journey
Push too hard, and TILT
The game ends
Before its time.
No more new balls.

Guess it takes all kinds, but it's sad when you run out of balls cause then there is no more need for flippers and all that noise and flashing stops.
