Last night I dreamed I met an Angel,
Sitting in my favorite place.
She had a smile like morning sunshine,
shining down upon my face.
I asked her if she would like to dance.
“Yes, but only for a little while.
For I only just, got past the gates”,
she said, with a little telling smile.
We danced the dance of Angels,
a dance I have never seen before.
This is what it’s like to fly,
this is what it’s like to soar.
The music will stop playing soon,
and the morning quick to come.
Will I chance to dream this dream again?
Or was this the only one?
The night is gone, and the day begun,
as I depart my favorite place.
I awake this dawn to an empty silence,
the morning sun shining down upon my face.

Dear Anslem;
This makes one kinda wonder if the melancholy over the dream is overshadowing the waking hours. Nice poem.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
This makes one kinda wonder if the melancholy over the dream is overshadowing the waking hours. Nice poem.
