The gift of time

This is an adaptation from a poem I wrote 15 years ago when I was too ill to work and had lots of time on my hands and felt frustrated at not being able to do things. I had a conversation with a friend the other day that reminded me of the gift of time.

Blessed are those with time on their hands
for they have time to learn many things
take your heart and mind to find new lands
new talents will enfold, spread your wings

The important things in life become clear
with time out from this busy world
time with family and friends so dear
forgotton joys and passions unfurled

Many things in life are precious
health, career, friends and family
but one of life's hidden treasures
is the gift of time just to be me

Wise words, Baz! I often wish for more hours in a day, but what I really need is better priorities to enjoy the time God has given.

Sometimes being alone is not as bad as it's cracked up to be.
