How Much Does a Word Weigh?

I was thinking about computer data and if it had mass, and the thought process evolved into what does a word weigh?

So how much does a word weigh?
You'd think it less than air
One single word
Has crushing weight
And here's why you should care

A single word can weigh more
Than mountains if used right
One single word
Cast just quite so
Enough to start the fight

I'm sure we know a word which
Weighs tons more than a brick
The word itself
Can crush a man
A most unseemly trick

Put two small words together
A devastating blow
With twice the weight
Your words can kill
You really ought to know

I once knew such a human
Who tossed words without care
One day her words
They quashed a clerk
Who quit right then and there

I've seen words big as anvils
So massive was their weight
They flattened one
Then two, then three
Four five six seven, eight!

Consider what you're thinking
Before you spew it out
Some people, though
Refuse to keep
Control upon their mouth

So watch what you are saying
Before you speak your mind
Just put your brain
Back into park
Instead of overdrive

How much does a word weigh?
Some words are none too light
They'll end the hopes
And dreams of some
And even end a life

How much does a word weigh?
Where does their mass come from?
Their weight derives
From ill intent
We all are worthy of

How much does a word weigh?
Much more than you assume
So think about
Two simple things
What you're saying, and to whom

Such excellent advice! Your words pack a wallop in this one. No wonder the Bible talks about our words, calls the tongue a fire, and cautions us to speak only those things that help others. Well-done, Ken!
