Hello, dear friends, we’re back. The progression of a certain situation along these last few days, concerning the health of a loved one, has brought about inevitable reflections on impending, major changes, on life, and on death as a part of it. From such reflections, this poem ensued.
Love and {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}} to you all.

(Art by Cruzeiro Seixas)

THE BUOYANT PRECISION OF CHAOS

things drift out of place with the fluidity
of unrelated scraps of air being shuffled
and rearranged around perplexed gills
never designed to breathe them.

weightless, soundless gulps of imaged
thoughts vibrate for a moment, like strings
wound too tight in the depths of throat, to
then slacken and revisit the emergent intimacy
of this unfamiliar milieu in bubbling surges

- and the eyes stare with widening blindness
at the tiny sparkles bursting unfathomable
meanings, as they erupt in open-mouthed
gasps.

swimming in buoyant undercurrents of winds
opposing themselves where water should be
and the scales, still clammy with the salt of
many tides, know it has been, becomes
an art, refined with each dry stroke.

and the desiccated pattern of chaos
establishes itself with the precision
of bones

- falling slowly to the bottom, fleetingly
set in the outline of a skeleton, and then
wafted, again, with the lightness of dust

or maybe, of a new, fluid blueprint of things
drifting into place in seemingly unrelated
dots…

Xandinha,

As I read this masterpiece, I couldn't help but think that we had both been thinking the same thoughts and the feelings that emerged from those thoughts was identical. Thank You for being there with me at a time when one cannot imagine being alone. And Thank You for expressing these thoughts and feelings so beautifully into words.

Amo te muito,
Joseph

Chaos = turmoil, doubt = uncertainty, fear = powerlessness, like an undeserved rain of malignan drops a sudden situation can soak our soul with the heavy weight of a broken thing that we can't fix.
The poem reminds me of another time with another buoyant chaos.
Be well.

This pen goes beyond the boundries that often confine poetry, to a level so much higher.

A gem of revelation, fantastic!
I also offer my condolence, death
is always hard on those left behind,
but I've found that I feel there in a
much better place. I hope so.
