ONE CLINK (for Kate Burnside & Jude Forése)
yes, there is music in the light
gently tapped upon all crystalline sides
of morning, this multifaceted goblet offered
to all thirsts for harmony from all beginnings.
fingers have learned the secret of being
dew, played like a vision that trickles smoothly
down the cool surface of haze, and the eyes
sip from that lucid simplicity within long before
the lips actually listen to its silent, fluid synthesis
with the cadence of breath – and hum it to
a rippled sun, until that pure glow of wholeness
in crescendo, serenely touches its own, then the rim
of another goblet, and another, and yet another
to the infinite…
… with one musical clink.

For me, this poem and its concept is yet one more confirmation of our belief that everything in the universe is one and that, when our creativity is unencumbered, our natural vibrations naturally meet in a harmonious way with the similar vibrations of all energy sources around us, no matter how far away they may seem. "yes, there is music in the light ... clink!"
