Poem Artwork

The precision of a sudden naked rawness

For a while I rustled among cogitations
much too verdant, like one more lobed
profile dispersing the succulence of focus
through green, veined ambiguities.

But then, a taste of what it is like to be
penetrated by the consciousness of fruit
fell, like a word, or hunger, on my tongue -
and I, from that specious footstalk, onto
the dampness of earth, with a thud.

Yes, suddenly ripe – certain, in all pulpous
shades of red, of no other purpose than that
of being gathered, now, between your hands
and then your teeth, with the precision of this
naked rawness, by my own avidity.

And… screw the leaves.

Minha Paixão,

You are the consumate Artista Bonita, offering her open heart to the world, the same way that you offer your love to me. All are fortunate who gather your fruit, especially me! :)

... Like watching a flower open in the sun and the way that clouds move and form across the sky, this is wonderfully observed and chronicled. Rich, lush and verdant in its tone and imagery, too. Reminds me so much of the acute eye of Virginia Woolf, tying experience and emotion right in at the root of a woman's psyche, like a two-fold umbilical chord. Vivid perceptions here. Bless you, Kate xx

Love the move from density of language to voluptuousness of feeling in these lines. Lives up to the title in a splendid SUDDEN NAKED RAW kind of way.

A satisfying choice of delicious words to delineate the writers precise thoughts. Oh how I admire the poet who mixes the colors and chooses the words to accomplish this. You have taken romantic poetry to another level dear friend, and have done so with extraordinary panache. Also ... your eye for imagery to support your creations is unsurpassed.
Blessings and Light dear and respected friend ...
