Lifting thoughts of fall

Sometimes thought falls
fortuitous
much as leaf would
on dead mounds piled under
the memory of the tree…

Yes… does the wind not take leaves
where it must
and not where they please
as their surface turns the colours
of spring dried out

into summer heavy
with adjacent fruit

and the inner recesses
surrender, sated
- weightless

to fall?

It should not come as a surprise
then
that thought may
as suddenly

lift

and, like the mounds,
be swept away -

leaving the ground
bare
and the tree
ready
for new leaves…

Xandinha,

Natural rhythm and harmony flow from your pen to make this a truly inspiring piece. Reading this lovely poem is like inhaling the wonderful scents of autumn.

How one surrender in the inner recesses? thoughts...them come down over our head like those dry leaves of autumn with the promise of younger ones coming spring.
