When time becomes a threshold

It happens every time when time becomes a threshold;
suddenly, there you are, staring into the eyes of a major change
that stares back at you like a reflection you cannot turn away from.

You do not welcome it in, and it does not invite you out -
strangers you are, somehow, and yet, intrinsically familiar
to one another, feature by feature;

Yes, there you are, and there it is, quite simply -
neither friends nor foes.

And yes, you realize that it is just the new face of you -
the one you will have to face from now on;

And the threshold – quite simply -
becomes time again.

Dear friends, fellow authors, and readers:
During the last few days, time has indeed become a threshold. My mother has just been diagnosed with cancer, and serious health problems have also been affecting my father for a while, so… here we are, “staring into the eyes of major changes”, and getting adjusted to this “new face of us, the one we will have to face from now on”. While doing so, and while “the threshold becomes time again”, our spirits are high, “the new face of us” is turned to the light… and, hey, there is a smile on it!
Love you all! {{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}

Xuxa,

The rainbow of your heart prepares the path before you and gives you reason to step beyond the threshold in confidence. Your love and strength is good medicine for your mother. I'll be holding your hand all along the way and I am carrying an unlimited supply of hugs & kisses in my backpack for the journey.

Lots of Love,
Teu Joseph

Beautifully reflective and a measure of the strength and realities of your combined spiritual beliefs, Alexandra. It is a door, a portal we live with each day of our lives. We exist between notions of what's seen and unseen, times that are linear and temporal and time that co-exists outside of our chronos. All I know from personal experience is that, as the body fades in physical strength, so the unseen, the spiritual takes on more tangible shape and closeness. We can be assured of our spirit's transition between visisble and invisible worlds. But healing is for the here and now, and I will pray it very much for all of your parents' corporeal needs. The human spirit is no respecter of "age", though our bodies may suggest otherwise! We do not necessarily have to quit this timeframe because sickness claims us. The miraculous surrounds us with every breath... it is the name we give to that invisible action that we cannot see, yet it is ongoing. Sorry to ramble, but may light and grace continue to abound as you live through the days ahead. I have every confidence that their power within you will increase. With much love and prayer, Kate xx

Alexandra, You always accept everything with so much grace and dignity. You and your family will get through this. I am thinking of you and send healing light and energy to your patents. Much peace, love, and light to you and Joseph during this time.

As you are living in the garden of life, some flowers will wither and others will get ill, no matter how much care you provide.
But pain and sadness can't distract you from hearing their voices and sharing their thoughts, to remember those past days and years worth to remember, to breath warmth over your withering flowers to thank them for the colors that they splashed your life with and all those magical perfumes that you were so lucky to perceive.
Then...the pain will be less because it will be inside a cocoon of happiness for them.

The wheel of life keeps turning, and a different spoke is on top with every movement, the same, familiar, yet individual. Keep moving in strength, keep moving forward. Best wishes for health to your parents, and strength to you.........God Bless........pax A

Sorry to hear about your mother and father, I truly am, life smacks us upside the head every so often . . . I like your image of the threshold, whereas I would probably have called it something different, threshold is perfect for what you are describing, and the fact that you can neither go out ot it can come in, sends the message that you are in limbo, which, given your sad news, you are . . . As usual . . . You inspire me . . .

(((Alexandra))),

I'm so sorry to hear of the decline of your parent's health...they, and you and Joseph, are in my prayers. A most beautiful write you pen...a threshold many face with trepidation, fear and in doing so, learn the meaning of love and compassion. Well done, and God bless.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
