The man...who just happens to be my Daddy in this
photo, 84 years young...plus one more year now.
Spending time with him today...A Marine, of the
2nd World War...I thanked him for my freedom
again...as he so gallantly came home from one
of the bloodiest battles on Palau Island, and
several purple hearts...but, with many brothers
lost...cold and chilling nightmares still to have.
I am tearing now, back at home writing to you,
My Friends...so very special he is to me. Not
only for his service to our country, but for
being My Daddy. I Love him so.
Then recalling when he asked me today ...
I cared for your Mother, till she died,
"Why am I still here"...I could only say,
very selfishly...for me, Daddy.

My dad is 91 and still very sharp. With your dad talking about taking care of your mom until she died and wondering why he is still here, I empathize with him and understand completely his feelings.Losing my wife recently is the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life!My heart and my love go out to your dad as a veteran and as a dad and to you for being a loving daughter and being able to put it in writing so well! God Bless.
