Poem Artwork

Graceful beauty giving magic to lifeless ground, accumulative
upon losing their individuality...but collectively, appearing like gleaming crystal jewels.

Until one glimmered of gold and related the treasure of friendships...as one becomes unique to keep...unlike the
array of blanketed snow, only to melt and become past
memories recalled in unconscious slumber only.

Though many can drift through a lifetime, only a few
will glitter of gold. Uplifting our souls for eternal love.
Likened to refined ladies of lacy dresses, and gents in
their tuxedos wearing golden boutonnieres...forever
priceless gems of cherished friendships...never to fade
or tarnish, but remain pristine.

Silently the snow flakes may fall...veiled of lace, but my
forever lady and gentlemen friends uniquely resound one by one...and pattern my heart of all that glitters.

Vivian, quite a neat, allegory for the value of enduring friendships. Tradition has programmed us to admire the pristine snow, ignoring its transient beauty, you have used this expectation to confound us and by employing another literary motif, gold, you introduce us to the real theme of the piece.

VIVIAN, ONLY A FEW WILL GLITTER OF GOLD...SO TRUE...THE ONES THAT ARE AWARE AND APPRECIATIVE...OF WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN LIFE.
KEEP GOING MY FRIEND, ALWAYS A TEAR IN MY EYES WHEN I READ YOUR WORK...ANNA

If only it could be or were universal, Vivian,
the elegance you speak of and with which you write.

All that glitters is sometimes snow. Priceless memories.

Elegant as ever!
The textures you weave into your heart-felt words are such a joy to experience.

"unlike the array of blanketed snow, only to melt and become past

Perfectly said and vividly illustrated. Your work is a moral throwback to today immoral world. I walked the immoral path for much in my life, but unlike those of this generation and even further generations back, I knew right from wrong, I just decided not to care. These days kids are taught that nothing is wrong, somebody else is always to blame. Good piece, Vivian.
