Poem Artwork

From a chance encounter
dancing for my heart
into obvious submission
we entered a world
only known to a select few

Assimilating a bond
many never attain
we created a cosmos
for only us to enter

Daring our minds
entwining our hearts
two as one

Red blood running through
our veins boiled of desires
we slipped into the night
seducing each other
with all the fever of
ardent intrepidation

Estranged temporarily
a former commitment
our journey could only
be of short duration
forbidden and forlorn

Now an ocean between us
forces us to secure
the memories locked
in our chest

for we had to throw
away the keys
to our stolen moments

As befits a "Brief Encounter" poem this is economically written and neatly constructed to express the fiery passion of such a love affair. I suspect your subject has kept one of the keys.

Quite a twisted tale of love found, love misplaced.
A not so good place to be.
Memories are memories, but flesh feels better.
