My Daddy, his Knee and Me

a Man can be a Father
but, it takes a
Special person to be a Daddy

Poem Artwork

Daddy...as of dandelions
my visions floating
like gentle white winged angels

Such is sitting on Daddy's knee
asking for quarter...
popcorn and a Saturday matinee
at the neighborhood theatre

Turn around...on the same knee
keys to the car for a slumber party
at best friend's house, of course
boys to cruise

Then return to Daddy's knee
for a dress to the Prom

Off to college,
words of wisdom from Daddy's
knee...A wedding,
now with children of my own

Am I now too grown up for
Daddy's knee?
Never,
cause that is just where you
can find me

Happiness Always for his
Special day and far beyond
My Daddy, his knee and Me

Aw, such special words about you on your Daddy's knee. My dad loved hugs and there was always something special for me after a great hug! yes, I was a "Daddy's Girl." Thanks for the memories of special Dads and years gone by. Very enjoyable read.

How appropriate to read this on Father's Day. In a perfect world little (and big) girls love their daddy and it is obvious that you have a perfect relationship with yours. A lovingly crafted piece.
