Blue moons without the warmth
of love brings chills, so I was left
to keep the home fires going with
our marshmallow dreams
Vines now grown over that lovers
lane night since you said wait for me
I still visualize your youthful face
but, wear my hair differently
not looking quite the same
that pony tail long gone
While you were back packing
indulging in a carefree world
I was to find my way
graced with poetic words
A box full of picture postcards
on a chilly winter's night not
enough..left me with an option of
moving on to a warmer embrace
Now we find ourselves in a home
coming, what will you do to embellish
the years way overdue in front of our
families and friends
Will the fire sparkle and flame..or die
out in the ashes shoveled up and
thrown out in the trash of the day
Yet to be determined when you walk
back into lives...so bitter sweet is the
coming home

"Vines now grown over that lovers, lane night since you said wait for me". So well written. The passage of time is artfully alluded to with the pony tail reference and of course the box of postcards.
The reader is carried along hoping for a satisfactory conclusion.
This is good work.

the real mix of feeling the poet doesn't dodge
or gloss over - such truth and honesty, Vivian, are admirable
and touch this reader deeply.
