This reminds me that the high regard of civilians brings with it a responsibility that was expressed in some words I learned long ago that translate something like this; "In combat we will carry out our orders without relish or hatred; we will afford respect to our conquered enemy." Above all it's the humanity of veterans, in extreme circumstances,that deserves our respect.
An iron clad poem honoring our veterans! Your words are a wonderful tribute to the men and women who have serverd our country well; any soldier would be proud of this poem, Vivian. Well done.
