Sentiments never to leave
that time befitting the recipe
of my cake and love's repartee
Now my rusty and worn out tin
no longer packed to picnic
I must leave you behind with
our red checkered tablecloth
forever in sentimental storage
My darling of fifty years you must
no longer ignore the loons calling
me to their golden pond where now
I must lie me down to sleep alone
Return you must to Mac Arthur
for that is where my youthful heart
for you remains and all the memories
sheltered from the rain
I, of sunshine yellow sundress,
and You in trippy paisley t-shirt
upon our grassy knoll enjoying
our cake layered with those infinite
moments that will never melt away
until we meet again in the great beyond

Wonderfully written as only you can do that Lady Vivian.
Much peace, love and light,

This is sad yet so beautiful Vivian.
..Till you meet in that great beyond
...'melting in the dark' and 'left the
cake out in the rain' from the song
come back to me strongly;
your final stanza is especially poignant.

Glad it did.
What a splendid poem.
Rich with meaning and thought.
And the picture reminds of St Pete.
Yes, thanks for sharing.
