Adventurous filtering sun rays
destination warmest desires
grasp threatening ideals of
perfection from new year's
restraining resolutions
daring to dream with color
Picturing drafty castle rooms
angels in surround music
dancing your heart rejoicing
fond remembrances escaping
maze of hallways lost in doubts
Amongst the camomile
courtyard healing gardens
commanding gentle be the
wind tapping at your back
above tree tops freedom
given to bend and sway
when dew kisses your face
Image yourself clever
your dream of one foot
on the ground integrating
stress into your life...yet
remaining open for engagement
so to be the kitty metamorphosis
of living nine lives engendering
dreams to numerous fruitions
Accept the dare
many to meet you there

Ah ha! If just for today I shall.

If this is a concrete poem (horrible title for a wonderful type), it settles in my imagination as a poplar tree (uppermost among my favourite trees) … the tree I picture from your “above tree tops freedom given to bend and sway” … wonderful image! To be truly free is to be above the stately poplars’ bend and sway… so much here to return to and yes of course one could do worse than be a swinger of birches, said Mr. Frost… I accepted his dare long ago, as I gladly accept your dare now… but why stop at nine lives when you can seize hold of an eternity of eternities… funny though, that you, too, should be writing of Winter in an extraordinarily refreshing way today… tis the season, as they say. I do like your original definition of being ‘grounded’ or ‘balanced’ though… puts things in perspective… nor are the glasses rose-coloured, unless of course we’re talking ‘blue’ roses… here’s to rising again!
