What did I do before you

my love?

I thought I was happy

or so it seemed.

Was I happy or just content,

during all those lonely

years past spent?

So much has changed,

I'm alive again!

Your love flowed over me

like a soft gentle rain.

It's like the sunshine

shining so bright,

with not a storm cloud in sight!

Like the light from

a big full moon,

illuminating the darkest

shadow's of night.

With your love there is no

fear or pain

in sight!

All the year's that came before

Were filled with heartache,

pain and deceit.

There was no common ground,

only door's that continuously

slammed,

Leaving pain all around.

True love just seemed

to pass me by,

I,

too afraid

of another black or blue eye.

For sixteen years

I gave my heart,

But it was abused

almost from the very start!

Promises broken,

never meant to be kept,

All those wasted years

I wept.

I saw no reason

to search again........

Better alone than to

face the unknown.

Three son's I bore,

They've gave me love galore,

for that I have no regrets!

But, another Love?

I sought not to find.

The other still painful

upon my mind.

Then you came

like a cleansing rain,

and the meaning of love

will never be the same!

Secure within your loving arms,

with your love there

can be no alarm.

It can only bless us,

together we reinvent

loves softest song!

Tina, this said and explained of such a sad heart from the past. You are like the pedals of the rose that were crushed not letting the beauty within to unveil. Then you were nurtured and your beauty was revealed. What a nice write Tina. I can only be so lucky to be the one to help your beauty and love blossom. All my love to you from your OUTLAW, Ken.

It is difficult to love and trust again after mental and physical pain. Trying to never look back.
But it is worth being vunerable and taking the chance to love again.
