Having been under the weather myself recently, I thought back to a time when I had the flu and how miserable I felt!

Poem Artwork

A nasty flu bug
Has got me down
I try to smile
But wear a frown

I want to be up
And roaming about
I must be patient
And try not to pout

My bed is confining
Not what I like
If I don't stay here
My fever will spike

So I read books
And I watch TV
I'm getting better
Too slowly for me!

Patience is a virtue
This much I know
Counting my blessings
Is the way to go

So my prayers go up
To the Father above
Let me not be cranky
But filled with Your love

I can relate, Joy. I don't usually get sick but I have had a lingering "cold" for about a month. I hope you are feeling better. Love and best wishes,

Love it. Joy this is so much like a lot of us when where sick with the flu. How much we can relate with this one. Don't like the confines of being bed ridden but don't mind the rest. Have a good day. George AKA THE WISE OLD OWL

Don't know too many who show patience when they are under the weather, just want to get well and back to normal. Be well and pray...

Be always safe,

Adorable reflection!
Lack of patience is a most troublesome aspect of my behavior too!

Dear friend, Joy, OUCH! What a clever, positive reminder of a familiar not-positive experience. Been there, done that. Another tie that binds us. Love, Marge

Prayer is the key, will open any door of blessing and healing. Nice piece. Remain blessed.

Now you have me under your spell, I once was well, oh can't you tell. Seriously, Joy, a quaint reminder of those awful symptoms. Nicely done. Still having fun, Jim

Nice poem, but nasty subject.... I like my bed, especially that hour just before I get up, but I hate being "confined" to it. So, don't you be spreading any of those germs around. I have virus protection, but something tells me it's for a different type of virus. Please be sure to sanitize your hands before typing me any notes. Thanks Dick

Yep. We all know this feeling. I have to tell you, you almost have to tie me to a bed to keep me there. Twice in the last two years they have wanted to keep me overnight at the hospital for observation. I refused. They made me sign a form that basically said I was turning down treatment that would save my life and that if I died don't blame them. True. True.
