Toes ignorant of tickles for fun Ankles swollen from inactivity Legs rubbery, too weak to dance Hands brittle from loneliness Arms fearful of giving hugs Shoulders hunched, don't give a damn Bellybutton hiding in fear Breast sagging, heavy with depression Heart deflated, can't float with hope Chin fallen, unable to stand up Lips dry and void of passion Nose stopped up with stinking lies Eyes covered in watery sorrow Cheeks stained with tearful Disappointment Mind drowning in sinking dreams
In woeful cry With sobbing lips She whimpered with sadness Into the ear of the sailor She saw each day Standing by the dock "Ready your boat for adventure Hoist up your sail of chivalry Pull in your sleeping anchor And sail me across The lost seas of great romance And forever your treasure Will my heart be Filled with devotion true -blue And with a touch of playful love Only you will ever know"
But he was not a sailor He only dressed like one Nor did he have a boat So he tipped his hat at the lady And went on his way
It was at this crushing moment That reality laughed in her face And whispered in her ear "Dreams don't always come true "

Amazing work, my friend! So easy to relate to in emotions and told as a tale that holds one's attention most keenly. I am always in awe at how well you see into a woman's mind. Huzzah!

yet there is a lot of truth in your final line.
The downside is that the renewed strength also contains seeds
of bitterness and regret, doomed to sprout at times when she least
expects them to.
