"No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in thee!" (Psalm 84: 11-12 RSV).

Can't trust the water, can't trust the food, gotta have a protector, even if it's crude. Can't trust a politician, can't trust a lawyer, forget the presupposition, forget about Tom Sawyer. Can't trust your insight alone, can't trust a prince of men, surely you'll be overthrown, you're better off a catechumen. Can't trust only science, Darwinism full of missing links, not trusting God is defiance, flee from this world's jinx.
