Poem Artwork

my little girl-dog is with me
all the time
the flowers above is in remembrance of her
I see her out of the
corner of my eyes many times daily
it is a good feeling
let me tell you
she understands how much
I miss her
every hour of the day
therefore she shows herself to me
trying to ease the hurt
sometimes I want to reach
my hand out to her
to scratch behind her ears
she loved that
apparently she can read my mind
because she disappears
I never see her
outside The Hovel
never
that surprises me
‘cause she dearly loved
being outside
the two of us
but in the course of the day
she comes to me
always out of the corner of my eye
I’m content with that
she is here
helping me get over the pain
of her death
it helps some
eh . . . but not enough
I keep that sad fact a secret
she might not
come back to me

Losing a beloved pet is just like losing a loved one....They are sorely missed, will never come back....But we feel their spirit around us....

A moving tribute to an animal that in many respects, transcends what we can feel and say about a good number of humans. I too have a similar relationship with my long gone lab, Luke. His picture is in the foreground of several family pics. Guess that says something about our potential connection with a pet.

Brought my tears, Jerry. Such a deep loss but a joy to still have her with you.

Very touching tribute to Zoe. What we lose, we can still keep alive in our memories. There is no greater honor.

Losing a good friend like Zoe is no different than losing a human friend, in fact it is for the most part worse...dogs leave their paw prints on our hearts...-e-

Another tender tribute to a faithful and loving dog. You do her justice in her remembrance.

Pets are our best friends, especially Zoe because she was so close to you. I dreamed of my big boy Pride several times after he left us. I think he has found my husband, and the two are quite happy. That's the message I've been receiving from Pride.

Zoe must have sensed your sadness and she comes to comfort you.
