Memorial Day

Trans Siberian Railroad
My dad did guard it
Got our boys home
Moscow to Vladivostok

My oldest brother on a ship
Turned those damn ships around
Guantanamo
We did it oh yeah

Brothers and husband in Nam
What a waste of our men
Treated badly when they came home
Sad story

To those who gave their lives
Are the ones we remember
Some think it's a reason for
Long week-ends and beer

"Happy Memorial Day"????
Let's keep it solemn
Remember the fallen
Cherish your freedom

Written from the heart and from those you remember and love. While I grieve for forgotten veterans, more and more, I want to forget war because there's nothing glorious about it.
