Shadows are strange.

Poem Artwork

Thought it a mere shadow
Surely shift of light
Strange shape shadow it
Candle's dance flame lit

Staring at this sheer form
Candle light provides
Shadow quickly hides
Showing off their sides

Larger shadow enters
From whence did it come
Candles out but still
It has its own will

It's come here to kill

When shadows soften in the flickering candlelight, I come to blend into your sweet delight.

Now isn't that better than sneaky old shadows that have nothing better on their minds than killing in the end?

Your shadows have shadows, that come even when the candle is "out". "It's come here to kill"; but who knows that it might itself be killed. Mere shadow. . . shadowy poetess.
