Something about a crisp, cold, wintry day that gives us the time, especially outside, to think, ponder, weigh and consider. Doing so, gives the mind a needed outlet.
Thank you for reminding me of the beauty and of the need for winter days!

I love what sounds ice really does make, when it finally does "speak" to us. It takes its time, but when the time is right it does speak . . . er squeak!.

Reminds me of colder, snowy days and I do remember the stream "singing" under the ice. I miss a real winter. They are becoming more and more rare. So far, no winter this year. Thank you for sharing, Jane. Love and best wishes,

The right kind of snow can create a magical winter wonderland, and I love walking along a stream that's at least partially ice covered. Enjoyed this winter write.

Wonderful metaphor for your closing line. The process was well versed and the paradox of ice as cold and dripping as the warm result, plays well in the mind of those who, like myself, enjoy finding fresh metaphor or simile constructs. Thanks for posting.
