Keep pope alive Ed, I mean keep hope alive. I was thinking the same thing Ed. But God is a forgiving God. It's us men that he has to make it past. And what gets me is that they won't pick an American to be hope, I mean pope. An ex Nazi, typical of the Catholic religion. G

he may have joined the nazi party as a youth, but it was not of his choice. still, he is pope now, and hopefully he can bring the catholic religion back to where it once was!

Actually he did deplore the Nazi regime and was fourteen when he was signed up for the party against his will. He deserted the army in 1945 and was a prisoner of war. But he went back to his origional studies. I think that he is probably an interim Pope until the one that they want to be Pope is groomed. I believe that they are probably many Catholics that agree with you. He was essentially John Paul's right hand man.

Ed, this piece may not be too far off the mark...for it seems that I read somewhere in the early 70s about the election of this pope and where he would hail from and that being from the land of Gomer, which is present day Germany...they foretold of the many things that would take place under his rule...and if I am not mistaken...which I may be...for 35 years ago was a long time...this will be the last pope...wish I could remember where I read all this stuff.
