She was the biggest & best,
The longest, widest & highest,
More men she had than a carrier,
Of her stern decks she employed a Harrier*…
Last was she of the series super dreadnaught,
Eighteen inchers that could pound a shore,
Or destroy other smaller craft at a greater distance, sure,
She was everything her designers & builders wished for,
But a secret she held, no one of it knew,
Even by the men that on her decks fought…
Someone, while being built, died and was trapped in her steel,
This worker was never found, his body sealed in superstructure,
Once the old girl was put out to pasture, eerie things began to happen,
Psychic’s could not board her, of pain and fear they began to feel…
Don’t go down alone into the bowels of her lower decks,
Or for sure & certain you could be lost down there,
Man made that moved to hem you in, the objects,
Your screams drowned out by mechanical noise,
Noise that should not occur on a “dead” ship,
Until crushed and a part of steel platting you became,
Never again to know of life’s joys…
