He was fourteen, He didn’t understand why he was so mean, He wanted to love & be loved, His parents & family afraid of him, They hospitalized him & fled his scene… His power over others supernatural, He tortured and killed small animals, He wanted nothing more than to of others control, In torture he of other children their virginity he stole… In time to an adult he grew, He had done a great deal wrong, he knew, So many a young mind in his life he slew, He did ask for, from the creator, forgiveness, But knew deep in his being that hell would be his afterlife destination, He did after all, to himself, his eternal life screw… © -me- 1/6/15

There are many people afflicted with mental illness. Me being one of them I can empathize with these people who grow up to be serial killers, although I didn't go that far. But, I can't fathom a sociopath that cares only about himself in the moment and that is all. Sure this ain't about you. but a great think piece Ed.

Hopefully, hypothetical and one of your better, more cogent pieces. The key is, to find these tortured souls before they start doing great harm to themselves and others. Some will find the process of finding these people out to be an invasion of privacy and loss of freedom. But any protected act like portrayed in the poem, should be abolished forever.

I refuse to think of this as auto-biographical. Seriously, there are far too many young people like this. Sad and somewhat perplexing to understand why. Incidentally, bubba... I think you've invented a new form; poetic/flash-fiction. I like it.

Scary, and sad. To me this is mental illness, for which there really is no good help. This is an excellent write.
