Damn dreams I have been having of late...

Poem Artwork

 On a streak of light,

No one could explain its sight,

Nor could anyone of it fight,

It changed locations with flight…

Its power did of all overwhelm,

It did connect with our minds directly,

We had no choice but to accept its presence, abjectly,

It told us in its own way; it was here to take control of our realm…

No longer did we need to fear of the future,

We would become as pets, no more young would come forth,

We would be as slaves to its powers, it would neuter everyone,

We could request death or a life in bondage,

Serving it and its fellow creatures of the sky,

Never again to be able to ask as to why.

Lightning can be daunting in dreams as its fingers reach for you. I've had nightmares that woke me and made me afraid to go back to sleep. Sweet dreams!

"No longer did we need to fear of the future,"

Even today, if you are remotely aware you need not "fear the future."

I love dreams but this one of yours here is more like a nightmare. Love and peace and better dreams to you, Ed,

Regis 😎

Lightning is am amazing phenomenon and can take many shapes and forms. Frightening indeed when cast into the fire of its glow.
