when theres nothing to hold onto
and theres no where left to turn
even loving hands can't hold on
even good intentions tend to burn
not even hope can be that strong
I tried to fix you when you hurt
make you feel good when you where low
but even all my dreams and hopes and wishes
will not trump what my soul knows
It was over long ago
the shadows were lurking in the corners
all our doubts hidden in a secret place
came out to play with our emotions
the end was always in it's place
your lies where like a poisoned potion
slowly stole the only dream I had
little by little the fire died
and i can't see the good for all the bad
but every night that sleep escapes me
every day happiness evades me
another layer fades away
another step away from yesterday
try to smile when you think of me
weep not for, our memory

Thanks for the reviews! Weep Not is sad, but it's just a snapshot. It's ok to acknowledge the sadness aslong as you also know that it only lasts as long as you let it! Love is beautiful but not always pretty! :)

This is very good. Not a whining kind of a love lost poem, but reality as you happened. Very good. I liked you bio photo too.

The poets ask what can you do when a love affair is over? I have no answer after years of slowly dying. You at least ask weep not for our memory. Yours is a sad but beautiful answer. Thank you for sharing this powerful poem. And welcome to AuthorsDen!

Poignant and so sad but many can understand the emotions expressed and relate to them.

This could be a song. Your words are very deep and from the heart, just like a good, sad love song.
