I try so hard to shun

the truth

the fact that

I see only

half of what is really there

which allows me to

see

that I am

hiding

from myself

Cautious

yet full out

I plunge

along the road of life

I run

I see things not as they are

I see them as

I want them

to be

I can’t continue on this way

I have to wake up

and get off the shelf

high up above

the street of reality

far off

the distant shore of

complacency

I have to

open my eyes

and stop

hiding

from myself
