The pale upturned hand caresses the stem of the rose The unassailing scent wafts up to tease the nostrils With numb regard she views the ruby petals Plink, plink, plink lull the rhythmic droplets Red petals carelessly pulled, drift to the floor Joining the river of blood forming around the tub base One petal lands upon the cold stainless knife The weapon of choice in a move of utter desperation Red for red, eye for eye, the deed is done (c) Rose Limongi 2004

An ending in red, that is not meant to be. Didn't think before or went wacky before, anyway is a sorry sad story of life ended.

Some strong emotions in your "Red for Red". It expresses a point that has gone far beyond mere sadness. There is something cold and final. Your poem elicits much feeling.
