The days are growing shorter, I notice as I watch the skies,
The sun looking farther away, lazy the day passes by.
A time of year I treasure as the seasons begin to change,
Colors of many to grace our site within range.
The days of another summer past will soon be memories to us all,
yet new things will come as the leaves descend in Fall.
Not long ahead a frost will grace the fields,
Sending with it the forthcoming air of a chill.
I shall look on the face of the new seasons arrival, seeing its true grace,
Knowing with each passing day, it shall not be long away.
For the memories I've gathered within the time passed,
Will carry me until next year with a smile etched to my face.
No season can go unnoticed, it holds your vision in hand,
So look to your mind with hope, to see the future plan.
For each new friend you gathered now has a place in your life.
It is the simplest reason for meeting people, to make a stride.
Thank you to all my new friends I graciously met this summer.
Friendships can last a short time, or we make them last forever.
To all I enjoyed the acquaintance, surely always to remember,
Making this time we met, a sweet sweet September.
