A FIELD OF BLUEBONNETS

I walk in a field of Bluebonnets.

I thought to compose for them sonnets.

The sweet fragrance fills my soul

until I am again whole.

I feel tired as I smile

like I’ve walked a full mile.

I will make my bed

and lay down my head.

My thoughts drift so slow and low,

somewhere over the rainbow…

I always liked the heather on the hill, but you have shown me in pictures and words that bluebonnets and rainbows make a great place for dreamers. Sensational write!

Ronald,
I fixed the top picture. I had inserted it afterward. Those were bluebells. Bluebonnets are tall stalks.

Bluebonnet beautiful. If memory serves me right, I think Ron Hull did a poem about bluebonnets, But I could be wrong. You'd have to ask him.

So beautiful, your words. And the flower at the top, may be called, Bluebonnet, but it is not the flower in the photo below, the one that I'm very familiar with.

In all of my April trips to Brenham, Texas, the Bluebonnet capital of the world, I have never seen an idyllic scene like the one pictured. I believe it is probably a painting. A surreal image of what the real ones portray in steroids or Photoshop. And, while I have been very close to mixed bluebonnet and indian paintbrush fields, I don't recall any fragrance from them even though the bees are busy getting nectar.

Oh! This is lovely, girl! You touched my heart as I feel the same way about clover. Your words paint a fine picture!

Love ya!
