“The Misanthropes”
“Hatred” boils
Like a festering sore
Growing,
Becoming more vitriolic,
As the disease spreads
Until it becomes all consuming.
It is passed from one being to another
Like a disease that will not be deterred
From its ultimate goal of conquering
All that lie within its’ reach.
It appears in many forms:
In racism,
In a cry of injustice,
In fault-finding,
In a naysayer’s lies,
In a politician’s accusations.
It is never fair,
Or impartial,
Or satisfied with all
It has infected with its’ malice.
It must feed in order to grow,
And there is always fodder
For its’ hunger that is never quenched.
Satan has taken hold and will not be content
Until all his maliciousness has been achieved.
Our only strength is in our numbers,
In our belief,
In our prayers,
In a merciful God that extends
An outstretched hand.
