My muse came to me
this morning quite by chance,
as I was at my bedside
buttoning my pants.
Sweet she sang to me,
of beauty all around.
That's why, my dear,
I've walked all day,
with my zipper down.
I like to keep a dream/story idea journal by my bed, to write down ideas I have there. It seems I am most creative when in bed. One morning I had a good one. I was dressing while jotting down the idea as I got ready for work. I was about to leave the house (after doing 101 different ADHD tasks), when my wife pointed out the task most embarrassingly not completed. I zipped my jeans to the button, then, inspired, I paused to write the previous in the style of Ogden Nash.
