When I close my eyes I see
A tunnel, I walk towards it
But then I stumble. Hand
Reaching out within its grasp,
Then the image fades so very fast.
Slipping from my grasp once
More like someone came
And shut the door. I long to
Reach that brilliant glow,
It calls to me but I can't go.
I want to see what's at the end
Then something brings me
Back again. I breathe in deep
Let out a sigh the moment
Seems to slither by. I sneak
Away I'll try again to reach
What's at the tunnel end!
Well-done, sensitive poem. I, too, would enter the tunnel of death to see the bright light of the creator who awaits on the other side, but I'm afraid to go through before my time. Not only can you feel it in your soul, but quantum physics is so close to confirming it. Would I stay if he didn't hold me here in the life that was fordained? I don't know...Jerry
Great write, do you know whats at the end of the tunnel, actually I dont think there is an end, just a different dimension when we end, as we never really totally end. :)
