I hardly have words about this one. It is so intense with the sharing of his sad condition, and the longing to help him no matter what it cost. Precious, painful memories.

I really think this is outrageous i a great way! Exqusitely Honest and Brave because there's a courage to appreciated when one write such moving pieces as you have just very creatively done!
I love it. I saw my Father Dying and i found my sister just 2 years
after...just 2 ago. I applaud you for an incredibly moving poem .

I have emphysema also. Unlike a lot of people I do not blame anyone. Especially I do not blame the makers of cigarettes. We knew they were bad for us way back when we were kids, that's why we used to call them cancer sticks. I, and everyone else that smoked, made their own choices because no one thinks it will happen to them.
That picture is breathtaking. And so is this write--you may have saved many lives today from the ravages of the stormcloud of emphysema and lung disease, caused by smoking.
I am a smoker. I know, I know it's not good for me, but I'm hooked into them tighter than Tillie. I've tried to quit, and TRUST me, ask Karen, I am a pure tee bitch if I don't have a ciggie. I am rude, crude and don't give a damn, ya know? Pray for me--
Thank you, dear Poet, for touching my soul (lungs?) today--I'm saving this one to read again and again. Perhaps it's just what I need to say "NO"!

emphysema is hell for all who are caught in its gasping, smothering grip...you never know how it is to be able to breathe until you can't do it; and that is a very scary thing to have to live with. my aunt had emphysema, and it was hard to see her suffering. hope things turn out better for your daddy; he (and you) are in my prayers! powerful write, michelle; very well done! brava!
