Killing Grounds

The dark earth ..watered by a million tears silently falling, etching small rivulets of sorrow into its fecund heart. The crimson blood of innocents spatters the soil with the echoing screams of the young dying without cause The bitter hungry earth embraces countless bodies contorted in an obscene parody of loves embrace taking into itself all it needs to nourish it's dark heart Yet.. this earth, this tear soaked. bloodstained soil like the phoenix rising from its bed of sere ash Gilds the scarred killing grounds in gaudy hues of yellow and gold frilly heads close together nodding in happy agreement Their presence a gift a reminder that.. for one brief moment in time all things are possible even love....

A dash of dada, a smatter of surrealism, the occasionally well placed metaphor can promise a fine delivery to the simplest of concepts.
