Poem Artwork

The King of the Elves
 Erique of Gnore
Sought his great throne
On the dark forest floor
Pixies danced near
Whilst faeries did sing
Lutes played joyously
As bells did soon ring
Silvered light twinkled
To all creature's delight
All danced and were merry
Celebrating the night

None knew that Erique
Elf Lord in reign
Had committed a crime
Which wouldst soon be his bane
His treacherous murder
Of Neilani the Fair
Who sat waiting upon
Her carved oaken chair
Combing through strands
Of flaxen white light
Whilst lips of blood red
Serenaded the night

His knife didst gleam brightly
As it sliced through the air
And sheathed itself tightly
In Neilani the Fair
Her silver-blue wings
Didst beat no more
Her fair form hence crumpled
To rest on the floor
Fae's blood spilt shining
Flowing crimson and bright
Pooled all around her
Staining the night

Erique was sure to make haste
From this horrid scene
Heading straight to his throne
Stopping no where between
He watched the merriment
The light games of the fae
Dreading this darkness
Fading away into day
For Neilani the Fair
Stricken down out of spite
Was Queen of the Elves
And Keeper of Night

She beckoned the moon
The stars she didst call
By turn of her fingers
Evening didst fall
Neilani the Fair
Neilani of fae
Bringer of night
Banisher of day
As dawn's rays broke in
Ending Erique's respite
He prepared to forever
Bid  farewell to the night

Danielle,

Excellent story. Told with the rhyme and the flow of the masters.

Danielle,

Killer! This, I dare say, is your niche. Excellent meter and tension. Well done! Well done!

Peace - but not too much,

B
