An insightful, sharply drawn description of an elusive subject. Your quoted excerpt is presented out of context, but I surmise that Count Stropov is subtly trying to persuade Leonora to "give it a shot" with him. "Tulips in Winter" may be written more for the female audience; but when love enters the picture, the issue is gender proof. To enjoy all the details, I best be reading the full story.
