About our non-violent revolution of the spirit
We’re freedom-fighters in the most peaceful way
Against an oppressive military dictatorship
We didn’t take up arms
Loving-kindness, embracing compassion
We use our arms as charms
To demand human rights
And live in a land that’s free
To express our powerful dignity
Our icon is Aung San Suu Kyi
Lessons in Liberation
Voices of Burma have become
Seeking reconciliation
All of us equal under the sun
Like Nelson Mandela before her, Aung San Suu Kyi is a beacon of hope in an oppressed world. Thankfully, the power of the Internet and worldwide public opinion is beginning to sway many oppressive regimes like those in Burma toward the right.
