When I was young, wild and free I didn't have the eyes to see Didn't have the eyes truly to see Beautiful diamonds glimmering back at me Not only jewels but people too Shimmering their brilliance, showering their good Each moment was special If only I understood… The preciousness of nature Its fragility too, so fleeting and passing, to all not a few Now I have grown I am learning to perceive The magnificence in moments and in all that I see

Some people's perceptions are dulled by work in routine and worse, by drugs. And then, some people open their eyes and see the possibilities and beauty is right before them in people and in nature. Such is the message of your poem, showing us that your eyes have become open to all the new possibilities never thought of before. Bravo!

I suppose it is good to grow up and to learn to perceive and such. I am told time and again that I never grew up. I just wish I could have kept that childlike innocence that we are born with. It seems to be buried rather deeply in my soul. Thank you for sharing, Suzie. Love and best wishes,

With age comes wisdom. We learn to open our eyes. Muhammad Ali once said, If a man looks at the worldd at 50 the same way he did at 30 , he has wasted 20 years of his life.
