She lifted him from where he’d fallen
Patched and saved his broken wings
Stood by him in his darkest hours
Achingly he reached for unattainable
For her smile, her kiss, her caress
He felt the flutter of her silent wings
He made her cry deep Angel tears
Which made him die a thousand deaths
Yet still, somehow, they persevered
They made a pact, written in the clouds
Tenderly kissed away each other’s tears
That eternal love was theirs…
