My Inner Beast

~My Inner Beast ~

 

 

He is so clever this beast of mine
a master of illusion and deceit
He slyly changes his appearance
to suit the task he wishes to complete
~~
He leaves his dark and dank hole
to catch you when you're weak
Lurking, slinking, stalking you
relentlessly pursuing a destiny he seeks
~~
He journeys slowly through your head
searching each shadowy nook
Hunting, seeking for a chink in your armor
a place you don't want him to look
~~
This clever beast is on a mission
never willingly will he give up the game
Always seeking the vulnerability within you
creating a breeding place, feeding the flame
~~
When turmoil enters into your life
that sly beast is awaken from his sleep
And the moment your defense is down
he slinks in planning his next leap
~~
When the beast rears his ugly head
smugly feeling that he is in control
Tap into that place deep inside you
and once again take back your soul

So that's the diabolical killer that comes out of nowhere and does away with philandering hubby. On theme with a rhyming scheme. Will try to steer clear of her dark side.

Ah, yes, that place deep inside you, but alas and drat, sometimes that old inner beast has already defiled that special place and we have to seek shelter elsewhere. Good poem and I know whereof you speak.

fountain to Minerva's lake, singing the mysteries of the mind.
