Poem Artwork

~A Touch of Autumn~  (Tanka)

near summer’s end

the first blush of fall

at first so subtly

soon to flash forth in splendor

touched by autumn’s breath

beneath a window

a dry leaf hangs in a cobweb

teased by a chilled wind

golden in the autumn sun

nearby an old man dreaming

forgotten chrysanthemums

in a garden turning brown

trees sharing their gifts

to every autumn gust

neighbors leaves mingle with mine

you said it so perfectly -- without your photo I could see the events unfolding and winter inching, creeping onward to cover the beauty of fall with starkness -- peace -- JMW

A great autumn write, good thinking. I saw a brown leaf on the walkway today, a lone brown leaf and it is getting chillier out and fall is on its way. Well done tanka.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
