I wish I could listen to your CD collection, but I think your soul-mind is more full of music than most musicians--and you skip over the cliche to get to the bone and meat of it. I'm glad you don't play the piano; you'd be a Cecil Taylor, Ornette Coleman and Duke all rolled into one! Awesome...

There is time that to let the freedom of mind work to invite one to leave the city of ignorance and enter the house of knowledge, the sage promoter has to provide a striking word series ~ using symbolism and all imagery and shades of the rainbow of awareness; write backward sentences, reverse the meaning of reality, ~ paint a surreal portrait of humanity in the darkness of the day ~ in order to deliver the torch of wisdom to the warehouse of consciousness.

This poem adds value to the history of the American Fine Letters and pays its poetic dues to the treasury of Poetry.

I have enjoyed the reading of this literary flower, titled,>>>>>>>>>>>
"Philosophy of the Midnight Skylark in a Jazz Suite Mode".

In admiration,

Author/Poet Aberjhani ...

Art is born of much suffering and elation. Strange bedfellows indeed, but when someone's art touches your heart, and causes the eyes of your spirit to open, it is an undeniable experience.

Your poem - Philosophy of the Midnight Skylark in a Jazz Suite Mode - is exquisite in its ability to transport one out of mundane dailiness and into the realm of sensory modality. Your last line: "into silk equations of bebop equals mc² sublime." is the work of creative acumen.

Blessings to you and yours this Holiday season ...

TRAFALGAR SQUARE.... sorry, but this is a case in point of the visual swaying the perspectives of the words, having, in my case, so much emotion invested. Both poem and photo are rich in meaning and inherent opulence.

Stoned lions roar nuclear lyrics about the way
it used to be never coming back again. Tough shit so
truly uncool.

says so much about how the past colours the romantic notions we cling to, and yet, though we strive to adhere to it as to a mast in the current storms of mankind, seeking to stabilise the way ahead, in our "futuristic" era where technology has superseded the pre-emminence of Man, the relevance of such human-based values and dependence is highly questionable. This is a modern-day equivalent to Nero fiddling while Rome burns, it seems to me. And your pictures of the Midnight Skylark in Jazz Suite Mode an accurate picture of the real escape route most seek to prefer.

As a footnote, have to say there was a time when dancing in the fountains at Trafalgar Square on New Year's Eve was a privilege and a total delight... now it is a scene of mayhem and violent havoc where all the disguised angst of a thousand years of progess and culture spills over in alcohol-fuelled frustration and brawl.

Notwithstanding, the filth of a God-drenched stable somewhere in the Middle East still endures and never, on this earth will its Light or Love be quenched. Happy Holidays, dear AberJ. LOL K xx

bebop =mc sublime indeed, the language of imagery powers it's way forth to the laid-back ambience it evokes quite brilliantly, a deceptively subtle and sublime ploy when one considers the power expressed within. Simply, quite brilliant!

You've masterfully created images in the mind with unique metaphors none of which missed its aim. There is also harsh criticism in the poem against the scheming of high worldly powers and their henchmen who are involved in matters most of those who will be affected by them do not (want to) see. Your poetic protest in in strong contrast with the nature of their concealed dealings. Your principles light years removed from theirs. Your future outside this space and time they can never touch.

I will start by saying that the picture is not only gorgeous, it really did set the mood for this marvelous poem. I could almost smell the cigarette smoke of some drunken old woman who was watching her reflection in the mirror behind the bar, while blowing smoke rings, wondering whatever happened to her youth and all the pretty boys who would beg her for kisses and more. Now her only companion is Mr. J. Daniels and a few foggy old memories. Music and poetry are life and you you combined them in a way that awakened memories of times gone by, when nights in the city were where it was at. Gotta watch out for that guy who bought me a drink, he already tried to sneak up behind me and put his hand down my blouse. "A two dollar drink doesn't buy your fantasy, buddy, so get outta here." He called me a damn bitch, can you believe it? Hot nights, cool music, soldiers on leave and all the drugged up crazies and wild women are on the prowl. Fantastic image rich poetry. I love it. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and yours.
Take care,
Sherry

Each stanza is so filled with a array of notions, deeply intertwined with a flare on the history of jazz with the history of America. Reliving some of the social and cultural events that impacted jazz music, jazz musicians, and jazz followers from the 1800s to the 1960s.

Ahhhhh, I can feel the humid night as the street folks congregate and the song is sultry and mean in the trenches, tear streaked faces diddy-bopping to the man in the moon and the fool in the gutter, never mind the shrieks from horns of plenty . . . hosts of Davis and Mulligan, trickle-down ivory blues from Ray the Man, whores in your face and get-down fools in your back pocket . . . this poem brought it all out . . . made me remember things I thought I had forgotten . . . Thanks, pal . . .
