My meager tribute to John Coltrane...

You strobe our conscious

Expanding space, infinite

Then fall down down down down

and jump like the earth's on fire

Are you a fallen angel

begging for redemption,

not wanting to set yourself down?

You saw His face, didn't you?

A billion lumens of love and light

That made you too high to come down
Come down to this...

This counterfeit of heaven...

Nothing at all meager about this extraordinary tribute to the jazz prophet Coltrane. I'm sending it to a jazz-poet that I know will print and very possibly frame it. You did Coltrane pround.
