I cross mountains, lakes and rivers to hover in your plain of silent tears--
what beauty there is in a broken heart!
I am the one who kisses your temple as you drift to sleep--I inhale your incense-myrtle, sage and cedar that smoke undying embers.
I slip through the veil, place cool fingers on your fevered brow--you welcome me to the house of dreams
and my fluted strings pull to you.
We resound to rhythms of a hallowed drum--bboom, bboom, bboom and arch and step in pilgrimage to soulful prayer.
I am a devotee burning candles in the dark shadow of light--I blow out the match and the flame singes my fingers.
Your voice fades to an echoed chant in the distance as dawn enters the portals of my room--announcing my return.
I stretch for the sun and rub the golden crust from my eyes as you are enshrined in the vault of my heart.
